01 — About the role
You will own the design, governance and continuous improvement of policies that support the Travls card programme and selected credit propositions as they develop. Working closely with Product, Operations, Data, Compliance and issuer partners, you will turn risk appetite into practical decisioning, limits, controls and monitoring that work across markets.
02 — What you will do
- Own the policy roadmap for card controls, customer limits, exception handling and future credit decisioning, translating risk appetite into clear operating rules.
- Design, document and govern policy changes with defined customer, risk and commercial outcomes.
- Build monitoring for approval quality, customer behaviour, limit utilisation, losses, overrides and emerging risk signals.
- Evaluate policy performance using data, test design and segmented analysis, then recommend actions with a clear evidence base.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to implement rules, reason codes, decision flows and reliable audit trails.
- Work with Fraud, AML, Compliance and Operations teams to keep card and credit controls coherent across the customer journey.
- Prepare policy packs, performance updates and governance materials for senior stakeholders and relevant risk forums.
- Support market launches and partner reviews by adapting policy design to local requirements without compromising the core framework.
03 — What you will bring
- Five or more years of experience in card risk, consumer credit policy, payments risk or a closely related financial services role.
- Strong understanding of policy governance, decisioning frameworks, customer limits, underwriting or behavioural risk management.
- A practical track record of using data to identify issues, test policy changes and improve portfolio outcomes.
- Ability to explain complex risk trade-offs in clear language to product, commercial and senior stakeholders.
- Experience working across first- and second-line teams, with sound judgement on control design and escalation.
- Comfort with SQL, spreadsheets and analytics tools used to analyse policy and portfolio performance.
- Professional fluency in English.
04 — Helpful experience
- Experience with card issuing, digital wallets, tokenised cards or real-time payments.
- Experience in a scale-up environment where policy and product design evolve together.
- Knowledge of rules engines, experimentation methods or consumer credit scoring models.
